Set of 12 Early 19th C. Hand Coloured Prints after Henry Alken

This brilliant and tongue in cheek grouping of 12 early 19th c. hand coloured prints titled ‘Ideas’ and published in C. 1830 by Thomas Mclean. The prints are very detailed with captions along the bottom with publishing details, dating 1827 and 1830. They all depict different equine vignettes and humorous racing scenes. Please note, additional images supplied on request.  All 12 prints are mounted behind glass in narrow wood and gilt designed frames, measuring 19 in – 48.2 cm by 16 in – 46 cm.
