This superb quality 19th century
French Kingwood fold over card table features a beautifully detailed and
intricate marquetry inlaid design. The table showcases a complex pattern of
scrolls, floras and designs, with heavy, elaborate ormolu mounts and trim
around the shaped top edge. It opens to reveal a green baize center surrounded
by a wide band of marquetry design, with an ormolu border between. The table
has excellent provenance and bears a trade label under the baize for Ate Leger,
Succ, plus a pencil signature of the maker and date, January 1861. The card
table measures 33 in – 83.8 cm wide, 16 ½ in – 42 cm deep and 29 ½ in – 75 cm
in height. This amazing and magnificent table would enhance any room and make an
